JE Design has made performance improvements and styling enhancements to the Volkswagen Golf GTI. The 2.0-litre turbo engine was upped from its standard 155 kW (208 bhp / 211 PS) to 199 kW (267 bhp / 271 PS), the same as the factory GTI R. Peak torque increases from 280Nm to 370Nm and as a result the JE Design Golf goes from 0 - 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, or half a second quicker than normal. Top speed is 257 km/h (160 mph), again, slightly faster than Wolfsburg's original.
The aerodynamics package includes a new front spoiler with a central spoiler with a carbon look, side skirts, a rear skirt insert and a diffuser. A sport muffler kicks out the right sound at the back, for €899. The suspension has been lowered by 35mm for improved road holding. Wheels are 8x19-inch matte black alloys with 225/35 high performance tyres.
All modifications are TÜV certified and JE Design will either have the car upgraded at its premises or have it picked up and delivered by fast courier after it's worked on.
