XF Estate / XF LWB also green-lighted

According to a recent report, Jaguar has green-lighted the F- and X-type.

Speaking with Automobilwoche, Tata Motors CEO, Carl-Peter Forster, confirmed the models were currently under development. While he declined to say when they would be released, he stated both vehicles would come in "several variations." We can assume this means the X-Type will be offered as a sedan and estate, while the F-type (possibly called the XE) will be available as a coupe and roadster.

Other details remain scarce, but speculation seems to suggest both vehicles will ride on a modified aluminum chassis which is being built for the next-generation XF.

Besides talking about the aforementioned models, Forster also revealed plans to introduce an XF Estate and an XF LWB (long wheelbase) for the Chinese market.

You have to give Ford credit for loosing gazillions of dollars on Jaguar and then dumping it just before it's return to profitability. Both of these models, and how to properly execute them for success should have been a no-brainer years ago. Instead Ford tried to rebadge a Mondeo to compete against the 3 Series. What a great way to insult the intelligence of their potential customers.

No. It's the best some car journalists can come up with when given Photoshop and a tight deadline.

Not sure bout this. Jaguar used to have classic swooping lines, now they just look down right odd.

With all due respect, I'll believe it when i see it. Jaguar has really dropped the ball. No X-type R to rival the M?, RS4 or the .... lexus thing, no 2 seater to rival the Z4 or SLK. Jaguar have been asleep.

X-Type resurrected? I hope it is not a rehashed Mondeo. As for the F-Type, I await with bated breath.
