Pagani developing smaller cheaper V8 model - rumors
Pagani Zonda R design sketches, 800, 24.10.2008

A new V8-engined Pagani could enter development, according to company founder Horacio Pagani.  In an upcoming article for British magazine Evo, Pagani said he would like to see his firm bring a lightweight car smaller than the Zonda to market.

If built, the car would cost half as much as the million-euro Zonda.  It could potentially hit the market in 2015 with production levels set at about 500 units annually, compared to the current 40.

Pagani says the car's look could be based on the Pagani C9, set for launch later this year.  The C9 uses the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine from AMG, and comes with a €900,000 price tag.

If it is confirmed... I will fully support it so as to add some pressure to the legacy-sportcar makers.

maybe a 458 Italia and Gallardo level of supercar? It won't be too cheap, that's for sure.

Not enough income selling only Zonda model?? It is sad that all the small manufacturers to survive longer in the business have to get rid off their exclusivity and produce cheaper/smaller models. In my opinion Pagani should stay super exclusive and crazy with ultra expensive model only. Hope never see the 911 competitor from Pagani Automobili. From the other hand, actually all this speculations might only be some stupid rumours. Imagine of selling 500 units a year for 500 000 euros??? It's hardly possible for Ferrari to sell so many cars a year with half a million € price?? In fact Ferrari don't even have a permanently in production model with this price. I don't think this rumours will ever confirm

Doing so would make perfect sense. If you only have one car, its gets long in the tooth and you have nothing else to create excitement and a market presence.
