A healthy kick in the pants

Sport-Wheels has unveiled a new performance package for the Volkswagen Golf VI R.

Under the hood, the company installs a revised ECU (€799) and a high performance exhaust system (€1,950) with 83mm tips. These modifications enable the 2.0-liter TSI engine to produce 330 PS (243 kW /325 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque - instead of 270 PS (199 kW / 266 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).

To improve the Golf's handling, Sport-Wheels added an adjustable KW suspension (€1,549) and 20-inch Ultraleggera HLT wheels (€2,849 to €4,039) which weigh a combined 12 kilograms (26 pounds) less than the standard 19-inchers.

Last but not least, the car can be wrapped in foil for an extra €350.

Exactly what I was thinking. It must therefore have the new 3.8 DI engine in the boot making 430PS.

Surely those silly wheels are too big to be any kind of performance upgrade? The 330PS is of course. I wonder how much power you'd need to do really small-radius AWD donuts in that car?
