Inching closer to production

Our spies have caught the first pictures of the 2012 BMW M6 on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

While still heavily camouflaged, we can see the car will closely resemble the Gran Coupe Concept. Despite this, the M6 will feature a more aggressive front splitter, modified bumpers, and a larger air intake. Other goodies include a lowered sport suspension, cross-drilled brakes, massive wheels (which look like 19- or 20-inchers), and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Power will likely be provided by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 555 hp (408 kW / 563 PS) to 570 hp (425 kW / 578 PS). This should enable the coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in under 4.2 seconds.

Boring, lately Bmw s designs look dated as soon as they premiere.Saw a 2011 5 series and it looked like the same old bar of soap BMW allways designs.M 6 is redundent beached whale anyways if you need 4 seater rocket M 5 is king.

I agree E60 is Bangle's best, although the new one is like E39, you can't not like it.

I have to disagree, I think BMW is back to their pre-Bangle timelesss designs. I hated Bangle and his disproportionate designs. This car is going to be epic, can't wait to see it with that M kit on it.

I prefer the old m6 with the V10 & the design looks really bland.

I'm sure this is gonna be a stunner. I saw the new 5-series in the metal for the first time yesterday and it looks awesome. Sporty, yet understated. The pics definitely don't do it justice.

Edison is right. The f10 can't match e60 for character and presence but it proves more purposeful in real life and the interior is miles ahead of the e60. For the first time in a long time, i'm really looking forward to the 6er and i think the new 6er will be one of the most beautifully designed BMWs since the e46 and perhaps the current z4. Those rims are amazing, hope they make production.

Well BMWs are one of the last German cars that look German and has the German characteristics and soul in the. I mean just look at audi, they trying to be japanese and somehow Italian. I mean they German, but not the German soul and quality for sure. This Bimmer is gonna look 100% German and 100% German performer, and with 100% typical German interior it's a BMW it's the Ultimate Driving Machine :) .

How is Audi all of a sudden trying to be Japanese? They haven't changed the damn design in a quarter century! And I'm not sure a "German" interior is a good thing.

Out of the 3 German brands. I believe BMW and Mercedes represent the German qualities the most. Oh yeah, Porsche to.
