2011 BMW 5-Series Touring M-Sport package brochure leak

2011 BMW 5-Series Touring M-Sport package brochure leak, 1600, 22.06.2010

Our thanks go out to WCF reader "Nic" who sent us a brochure for the upcoming M Sports Package upgrade set for release on the 2011 BMW 5-Series Touring.  The brochure was given to our fearless reader after his purchase of a BMW X6 M.

Inside, the car has an M-badged multifunction steering wheel, aluminum pedals, anthracite headliner, M-emblazoned leather interior, and an aluminum trim with a hexagonal pattern.  The package uses 19-inch lightweight wheels, though 18-inchers can be purchased instead.

Outside, the car wears a host of color-matched equipment, including the new front bumper with large air intakes, and side skirts that have also been given the M treatment.  A redesigned rear bumper with diffuser is fitted at the back, though the chrome-tipped dual tailpipes tell anyone and everyone this is not actually a M5.

Not wanting the Touring car?  Look for similar features on the 5er Sedan.  The 2011 BMW 5-Series Touring with the M Sports Package should hit the market this fall with seven extra exterior colors.  The wagon has a 560-liter (19.8-cubic foot) cargo area, 12 percent more than before.

Not really as current BMW's decision to put M-package has different body kits with the M as it is on 3 series and X model. As Z4 does not have M model, the M-package resemble the "is" model. Previous M5 did have similiar body kits as all previous M-packages on BMW do have similiar body kits (remember on E46 and E39, but start on previous Z4 and current 3 series, they change this policy). Though, from the photo shot, M5 will has quite similiar design language. The rear is too simple yet not elegance while the front is just too boxy, better to stick on non M-package.

So M package = ugly version of modern BMW's? Other example being the 7 series.

I think the 3-Series M looked good (better before the facelift though), as does a 1-Series Coup? with M accessories.

Hmm, that bodykit's not really an improvement on the original 5-Series. It looks a bit messy. Still, I'm sure lots of people will spec this One-Upmanship Pack - sorry, M-Sport Package - for their 5er. They certainly did last time... "Not wanting the Touring car?" - Actually I'd love a 5-Series Touring Car. Might be a bit big for entering in the WTCC, though...

This M Sports Package doesn't do it for me. Somehow it looks a little too aggressive for the 5er Touring. Overall it just doesn't work. The article could read "2011 BMW 3-Series Touring M-Sport Package". 3er & 5er Touring are indistinguishable from each other at first glance.

Better than the E60's one, at least

That interior looks so drab. I like the outside even though it looks almost identical to the 3 and the 7. Looks like MB is the only one of the big three producing cars that are distinct in each class instead of the same design in different wheelbases. I actually do like BMWs current design language though, very classy.

Comparing to previous version, looks very mildly. Hope true M5 will look duly agressive
