Not even two months since we brought you renderings of the next BMW M6, a prototype of the car has been spied testing on the Nürburgring.  The test car has a similar roofline to the BMW Gran Coupe Concept design sketches seen last month, even though the actual concept car's rear doors alter the shape.

With all the camouflage, including extra pieces over the front end, it is difficult to see what the car will bring to the table.  It does appear to have a thin lower lip/splitter, a sectional bumper, and hiding underneath black mesh camouflage twin kidney grilles with slats similar to those on the Gran Coupe Concept.  Adding to the performance-oriented M car are the cross-drilled rotors, and the expected quad-exhaust. Bigger wheels were also added.  Like the nose, the rear of the car has been covered up quite thoroughly.

The next BMW M6 is expected to share a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 570 hp (425 kW, 578 PS) with the M5.  The car could be capable of a 4.2-second sprint to 60 mph.

I hope it has low CO2 emissions, and small petrol engines. I love the environment.

Very nice. Especially in blue on the rendering picture. Rear lights are in Z4 and new 5-Series style. I think it will be a very good looking car, better than current 6-Series. Hope the new V8-M6 version will be as savage and dynamic as current V10. If the price tag reach 120-130,000 euros for well equiped car it will be a very serious alternative to my all time favourite Jaguar XKR 5.0 or Maserati Granturismo S

If they get rid of that ugly ducks bum rear end then they have a winner and it looks like they have done that. I like it.
