VW Race Touareg spotted in the Alps - version 3 on the way?
The perfect car for the end of the world
Our spies have caught a revised Volkswagen Race Touareg undergoing testing in the Alps.
While were not quite sure if this is an updated Race Touareg 2 or a mule for the Race Touareg 3, changes appear relatively minor. Modifications include a snorkel air intake, new vents (fender and roof), and a front brush guard.
Under the hood, power will likely be provided by a 2.5-liter diesel engine with 280 hp (205 kW / 284 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. Despite seeming a little weak, the engine has enabled the RT 2 to win first and second place in the 2009 Dakar Rally.
Considering the 2011 Dakar Rally starts January 1st, expect to learn more about the updated RT 2 (or new RT 3) in the coming months.

The EMP emitted by the nuclear warheads that will be going off when the world ends will surely fry all the electronics on board this vehicle. I would recommend a good ol carburetor or mechanical diesel injection. If you go gasoline make sure its ignited by a simple magneto, no solid state processors, or unecessary electrical components.
