 Morgan EvaGT four-seater coupe teased
Morgan EvaGT four-seater coupe design sketch teaser, 980, 11.06.2010

Only 100 units of the grand tourer will be made

Here's a teaser image from the quixotic British brand Morgan introducing the upcoming EvaGT.

The EvaGT is a four-seater coupe model based on the Aero Supersports platform but featuring a modified variant of that aluminum chassis - one also used for the Morgan GT3 racer.

The vehicle is being designed by computer software and aims for a very fluid, aerodynamic styling. The body panels, designed and stamped by machine, will also be made of aluminum and feature a hand finish.

Under the hood of this grand tourer will be something far more familiar - a BMW-sourced 3.0 liter, twin-turbo straight-six with 306 PS (225 kW) and 400 Nm of torque featured in every -35i model from the Bavarian brand. That engine will propel the EvaGT to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds given that the weight of the car is only 1,250 kg. Top speed is a serious enough 273 km/h (170 mph) with a very reasonable fuel consumption rating of 7 liters/100 km in a combined cycle.

The EvaGT will have a limited production run of only 100 units. Morgan has begun taking orders on the car requiring a £5,000 pound ($7,315, €6,057) deposit even though pricing has not yet been announced.

The model will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California on August 15.

Nice sketch, the performance with this V6 is great so imagine if they fit the V8 4.4 TT on this!

Assuming you're talking about the BMW engine, I think that might be a little overkill. I was thinking the engine from the M3 would be more appropriate. Still, nice figures and this sketch looks sweet.

Nice sketch, who said that a fast car without a electric engine can't be economical.
