I think that your, me, and the article does not really know how much power the 1er M will have. An M badge was never be just about bring up the power like in the normal 3 series. It would always be more focused on the other aspects of performance. That stance reminds me of an E30 M3. I could somewhat guess where this is going.

I wonder why they don't call it the M1 Coupe?, any upcoming mid engined M1 could be called the M1 GT or something? 1 series M sounds gimpy, something that no M series cars have been or are supposed to be.

Most BMW fans would probably think that the original M1 should remain just that. The idea of a "New M1" being a modified entry-level coupe probably wouldn't wash well with some people.

Yeah Mikeado lol. A quicker 1-Series coupe isn't a bad tbh. I mean the 1-Series saloon was terrible but in coupe form it's not bad. I wouldn't want to buy one but it's still nice.
