Aston Martin V12 Vantage 10.05.2010

U.S. pricing for the Aston Martin V12 Vantage will start at $179,995 when the low series production car is released in that market.  The 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS) car will be limited to 1,000 units worldwide, with no indication of how many models are allocated for the States.

The car's base price includes both a $3,000 gas-guzzler tax, as well as a hefty $1,350 delivery cost.  Municipal, county and state taxes, as well as paperwork fees, are not included.

The 6.0-liter V12 engine, taken from the DBS, kicks out up to 420 ft-lb (570 Nm) of torque taking the driver from 0 to 62 mph in under 4.2 seconds.  The car tops out at 190 mph (305 km/h).

Those with an extra $15,000 burning a hole in their pockets may step up and buy the Carbon Black trim, a version sold exclusively Stateside.  This gets the customer blacked-out 10-spoke wheels, metallic black paint, a new grille, and carbon fiber trim pieces.

Somebody said one day: "It's not the fastest nor the quickest - and neither is this car. The idea is that is doesn't have to be .....the smell inside, the craftsmanship and the aura that most Astons have - it's all about how these cars make you FEEL and HOW they drive, and it always will be ....." AMEN

I have a DB9, Lamborghini Gallardo and a Maserati Granturismo, I hope the build quality and reliability is improved. The Lamborghini and Maserati are way...way ahead in build quality and reliability.

Actually the Maserati is the best car for the money. It may not be the fastest but everything is just right and it makes the best sound.

wow. didn't they want to price this close to the DBS at $260k? so now at $180k it is $80k less than the DBS and $60k more than the V8 Vantage. i guess it can be consider a bargain from the DBS.

eddie, wtf r u talking about?? Maserati the best car for the money? r u sniffing glue? it is overpriced, handles terribly, and is only ok to drive if it has the automatic transmission, the flappy paddle box is a POS! and the brakes are garbage! a nice sounding engine...that's it? i recently drove a large number of cars in the upper scale of what's available and the maserati was truly the biggest disappointment. POO i say!

Good value for an Aston Martin. Just a shame it's limited to just 1000 units worldwide.
