Lamborghini has issued a teaser image, if you can call it that, for the upcoming Murcielago replacement. Likely to go by the name Jota, the new big boy will be unveiled at a VIP presentation in July, and then make a general public appearance at the 2010 Paris Motor Show in September.
No new details are available as far as the powertrain, only that it will sport a new direct-injection V12 engine with at least 515kW (690 bhp/700 PS). The 0 - 100km/h will hover around 3.0 seconds, with top speed escalating to 370km/h. A monocell construction similar to the McLaren MP4-12C's may be favoured. Body mass is said to tip the scales at less than 1,500kg. A new set of 21-inch wheels with upgraded Brembo brakes is in order.
Styling is set to remain typical Lamborghini, with sharp exotic lines similar to the Reventon. Apparently the traditional scissor doors will get a tweak whereby they open to the side first, and then go up.
The new top dog Lamborghini should be priced in the same range as the LP 640.
