Here are the latest pictures of the next-generation BMW 6 Series spied with much less camouflage than ever before. We can see more design details, including some lines on the doors as well as the undisguised soft top. BMW is sticking to that roof type for its biggest grand tourer.

Previous spy activity revealed details such as a centrally-mounted brake light and a larger BMW emblem at the rear.

It is expected that the car will share most engines with the 5 Series, which means buyers can pick from the 4.4-litre V8 with 300kW (402 bhp/ 408 PS) and the 3.0-litre twin scroll turbo worth at least 225kW (302 bhp/ 306 PS) among others. The M6 is said to benefit from a more powerful version of the 4.4-litre twin turbo. The company's new 8-speed automatic is expected to send power to the rear wheels.

Look out for the all-new 6 Series some time in 2011, following public debuts at several international auto shows.

What's the point of the disguise. We all know what it's gonna look like.

With the design direction BMW has taken lately, it's easy to speculate.

As usual, I can't wait for the M6. Skip the 8pd transmission and go for the manual.

with BMW's idiotic clutch? I'll stick to the auto (if it's a daily car)

Hopefully by then they will have realized their mistake and put a sport clutch and a short throw. I agree, the manual in the current M5 (probably the same as the M6) is not so great, but I prefer it to the auto that they offer.

Disagree, it looks like it stole the face from the GranCoupe, which makes us all happy.

IMO looks so much better than the current one, which just seem incoherent and plain ugly to me. Looks as if BMW is forging brand identity and I really like it.

Hmm...have to see it without the disguises. I love the new BMW Gran Coupe...totally awesome. I love love the current BMW 6 Series also...super sexy. I hope they don't mix them up. Either way can't wait to see them in the flesh.

I never liked this car, I drove the M6 for a while, amazing power, that's it... I'd stick to an M5 any day, M3 no doubt!

Front end looks pretty nice, but im curious to see the back becuase i am a fan of the back of the current 6 and dont want it to lose its contraversial 'design piece' (its boot lid)
