It looked to me like a racing incident. These cars change direction at the slightest twitch with their fine-tuned aerodynamics, so it could easily have been a pure accident. They're both racing eachother - no team orders - so Webber was allowed to defend the move that Vettel was allowed to put on him, and unfortunately it all ended up in an embarrassing collision.

I don't see anything accidental about that. That was pure and simple aggressive racing between 2 extremely competitive drivers. According to team management, Webber wasn't supposed to defend his position, but that wasn't communicated to him. This was pretty unfortunate, but when you have 2 top drivers on the same team it's not surprising. But that was pretty crazy to watch. The Mclaren battle was insane too.

@ iconic yes but they have some respect in Mclaren (lewis didn't push button into grass, he had some space)!!!

@ Jale, absolutely. I think that's why it was so insane, it looked so damn perfect and almost orchestrated. They pulled it off like champions. It seemed like the Red Bulls just tried to call each others bluffs.

even the German commentators said it was Vettel's fault. he just assumed Webber will let him pass.

webber was slower. He should have moved a bit. If vettel didn't go for it Hamilton wou;d have passed him. Webber was holding vettel.

Weber was wrong, he didn't let vettel to move and he was in front...Weber must let him to do the curve like anyone had...2 of 3 cheefs in red bull are for vettel...gentleman this is a clear situation-webber is wrong! "The important thing is to have respect" by Felipe Massa

I have to agree with the people saying this was a racing incident, pure and simple. I thought the official verdict is that team orders should no longer apply, which I'd say is what was the case here. Webber was leading, didn't want to give away P1, Vettel tried to take it, they clashed (sadly), end of story. I say both men should just harden up, have a beer together and put this behind them. It's F1, it's supposed to be racing. In racing, $hit happens. I'm quite disappointed in RBR. They're not doing a very good job of keeping the peace between their drivers, and they clearly favor Vettel. On top of that, they seem quite happy with taking out their laundry in public as it were. It's grossly unfair towards Weber, but funnily enough also towards Vettel. Still, RBR favoring Vettel as much as they do alone makes me hope Weber soundly trounces Vettel in this year's chamionship. That, and Vettel's crybaby behavior...

Your the metal one Vettel, you caused the crash, you caused Red Bull to lose the lead in the drivers championship. Show some maturity take the blame and move on so the team can go onto winning the championship if not the media will run with this and destroy you. You two have the best cars this year use them, be friends and bring home a championship for Red Bull.
