 Jaguar F-Type is a go
Jaguar XK180 Concept

The Jaguar F-Type first appeared as the XK180 Concept in 1998. Since then the company has been hit by bad financial health and had to cancel the project, although a couple of years ago rumours surfaced that it would go into production. With the appearance of new owner Tata, it seems the F-Type is truly and finally in business. It will be a driver-focused sports car featuring cutting-edge engines and technologies.

More news from Jaguar Land Rover is that a fourth Range Rover model, a BMW 3 Series competitor and a new Estate are on the cards. Furthermore, China and India are to receive new company factories just as plans continue for the closure of one UK plant.

"It is much better for a car company to have one large factory, than two small ones," Tata Motors Group CEO Carl-Peter Forster said. "This move isn't about taking volume out of the UK. It's about strengthening business in emerging markets."

It's a design that's at least 12 years old and I wouldn't change a thing! It'll sell on it's looks alone, but hopefully Jaguar can breathe some extra refinement. I WANT IT!

It is long in the tooth... Despite that, I would want to see the real deal when it is done and prepped for production.

Awesome car...if they built it, it will sell... PS: I hope Mr. Foster does a better job with Jaguar and Landrover for Tata, as he did with Opel and Saab for GM.

The car looks like a sperm whale with its mouth wide open, sweeping the cool ocean water for plankton

This design may be regarded by some as pretty, but it is outdated and far from futuristic. ANd those are traits a new design must have in order for the car to be successful. So when it comes out don't expect it to look anything like this outdated concept. But i must admit i am curious as to what engine it will have. Also interested in the new X type and XE models. Quite an exciting time for jag fans right now..
