Dubai highway freestylers busted by cops

Not known for a loose attitude towards outlandish behaviour, police in Dubai have arrested the owners of two vehicles used in a seemingly spontaneous bout of stunt driving on one of the emirate's main roads.  Police also seized the Nissan Patrol and Toyota pick-up truck that were seen riding on two wheels, pulling doughnuts, and burning out on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The two men are reportedly from the UAE and in their 20s.  They could be fined and sentenced to three years in prison if they are convicted.  Their vehicles were identified by investigators who, along with people worldwide, watched videos of the stunt on video sharing websites.

Sheikh Zayed Road is a twelve-lane stretch of highway E11 that connects Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.

Should the owners of those vehicles be punished, and if so, how?  Log in, and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Serves them right. By the way, the Land Cruiser 70 Pickup used in the stunt is popular in rural Arabia. It is a Bedouin's second trustiest companion in the desert.

Yeah, should be punished if it is holding up the traffic or endangering others. Otherwise let them be. Like I've always said, I don't care what others do as long as they are not hurting others. Of course, if they are holding up the traffic when I'm in a rush, then I will have to try very hard not to ram them out of my way. By the way, it seems this type of things are quite common in the Arabian peninsula. I'm sure you have all seen that video of the drifting Carrera GT and M5 on public road.

The video is kind of funny to show how careless those suckers are. Specifically doing their stunts on one of the busiest roads in Dubai. Knowing that Dubai has several race tracks & stunt arenas, those dudes should be nicely penalized? As for the GT & the M5, the stunt did not take place on a highway, it was on an empty, blocked off show off strip.. And the GT was driven by a Rally champion who was known to local authorities? Not saying it was ok, but you have to know the country before passing gas I mean judgment?

The dude in the truck on 2 wheels has skills. That homo in the POS toyota, with the rear end weighing about 10 pounds and peeling out should be shot.
