2012 VW Jetta sedan prototype caught testing uncovered?

GMfan1111, a member of the GMinsidenews forums, has snapped pictures of a mysterious prototype cruising around Metro Detroit.

While we're not 100% sure, the prototype is likely a disguised Volkswagen. First and foremost, the car features a number of traditional Volkswagen styling cues. Secondly, the photos appear to have been taken around Auburn Hills or Rochester, Michigan - an area which houses a number of Volkswagen offices. Last but not least, the prototype features Cherry logos and Volkswagen has used fake logos in the past (they used the Hyundai logo on Tiguan prototypes and the Mercedes grille on Bentley Continental Flying Spur prototypes).

So if this really is a Volkswagen, what is it? Probably the next-generation Jetta, considering it appears to be too small to be the NMS and too big to be the Polo sedan. More importantly, the car's rear end looks virtually identical to the Volkswagen Compact Coupe Concept which was a preview of the 2012 Jetta.
