Looks virtually production ready
Our spies have caught new pictures of the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster.
Undergoing testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, the prototype looks virtually production ready. While it's still wearing some camouflage, we can clearly see the roadster will lose the iconic gullwing doors for more traditional units. Despite this change, everything else remains faithful to the coupe.
Under the hood, power will be provided by a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter (6,208cc) V8 with 420 kW (571 PS / 563 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. This should allow the roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, before topping out at approximately 309 km/h (192 mph).
Look for the SLS AMG Roadster to launch in 2011.

This car is going to be beautiful. I think it will benefit from not having those thick B-pillars.

without its gullwing door, it sorta loses some appeal to me, can't they have a Butterfly (SLR like) doors instead?

I think the picture 4 to 6 is the hard slope corner of the track. What will the different be with the new engine in the SL with the boost extra feature and the SLS power output.
This car will be interesting for when we do see it without the hidden items
