2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee: New Images & Video Released

On sale next month

Chrysler has released new images of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, ahead of its launch next month.

Introduced at the 2009 New York Auto Show, the Grand Cherokee is described as an "American icon and symbol of the new Chrysler." It features modern styling, a vastly improved interior, and Mercedes M-Class underpinnings.

Power is provided by a 290 hp (216 kW / 294 PS) 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or a 360 hp (268 kW / 365 PS) 5.7-liter HEMI V8. While detailed fuel efficiency data wasn't released, Chrysler says the V6 can deliver up to 23 mpg highway.

As we have previously reported, the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available in three different trim levels. The base Laredo 2WD is priced from $30,995 and the top-of-the-line Overland 4WD starts at $42,995.

I'm sorry, but that interior just does not belong in a Jeep in my opinion. Though it will be suited perfectly for the target audience probably, the car has one from off-road run rugged vehicle to a plush comfortable highway SUV. I rather buy a GLK, X3, or Q5 for a little more money then...

I love this Jeep. This is as capable and almost as luxurious as a Range Rover for half the price. Good Job!

Sorry, current M-class interior is far better, it is really show the half price over RR. The exterior is not a big step from previous model, especially from back. LR may also do similiar treatment to both RR, Disco and RR sport, but they look modern and clean, but this new Grand Cherokee isn't. When GM and Ford have stepped ahead, Chrysler seems to stay in the old day. Even, current X5 is still a tough competitor for this new Jeep. I will take smaller but brainer new Cayenne or its sibling Touareg.

am very much impressed . a really handsome looking SUV in its own right and is the only SUV endowed with valid bragging rights that qualifies it on a par with Range Rover in terms of genuine off-road performance . i would , if i were Jeep , take this vehicle to compete and chalk up victories at Dakar,Pikes Peak,Baja to prove the skeptics wrong .
