Love the design, still regonizable as a bugatti and aggressive, but unlikely this would ever be consider for the next Bugatti as they combine performance, and prestige.

looks mean, and fast. a little bit too busy though. i like the more simplistic yet bold look to the current veyron. this looks like a crazy body-kit was thrown on. it still looks stunning, just in a much different way i think.

The article incorrectly states that Pi?ch is not at VW any longer. Even-though he is not involved in the day to day operations at VW, he is still chairman of the supervisory board.
His comments should most definately be taken with more than grain of salt. Read into the VW/Porsche takeover fiasco and you'll understand the influence and power that the man has. If he wants an extra 200hp added to his pet project he'll get it.

So true, it would not matter if they kept adding more power. What they really need is weight reduction and further handling modifications to try and make it somewhat track worthy.

lol, whoever thought the veyron's 8liter engine was anywhere near topping out it's numbers really needs to read a book on turbo charging... or compare hp/liter numbers of other fi cars.

Piech said it will produce 1001 HP... and they did it.
Sounds really cool but I'm sure the engine always produced more than that... and they just limited it to the required value...
when you know a 911 turbo produces more than 530HP for 500 sold...
So they will pretend they have to change the exaust and engine computer to get 200 more HP but this is pure marketing I'm afraid.

The engine is rated to guarantee producing at least 1001ps.
In reality the engines produce between 1020-1050ps on the dynos. I'm sure that getting 1200ps is probably not a problem from the engine (who couldn't tune a turbo engine..?), but with that comes consideration for coping with all the problems the extra output causes - cooling / brakes / transmission etc.

anyone can make a 1000hp engine nowadays , but how many can make than engine last, that's the problem. the Veyron isn't built to be a track car , it's a GT car , it can be driven on long distances any time of the year, how many other 1000+hp cars can do that ?
