Alfa 8C Competizione GTA Spotted

A French blog dedicated to Italian cars, Unica-Strada.com, has obtained a photo that may show the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione GTA.  If released, the rumored car could be sold as a limited edition version of the sports car, with stepped-up performance and aerodynamic modifications.

We first told you about the 8C GTA back in August, when we reported that the special model would have an 11% increase in horsepower over the 8C.  The 8C GTA is expected to get a 4.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS).  On top of that, the car could see a 150 kg (330 lbs) weight reduction, as well as a new exhaust system.  We previously reported that this exhaust would use three tailpipes, though the car seen here only has two.  These changes could let the 8C GTA sprint from 0 to 60mph in under four seconds, and clear a top speed near 200 mph (322 km/h).

Unica-Strada also suggests that the 8C GTA may be joined by a Mito GTA, though there has been no official confirmation of that project being revived.

With the added power and higher top speed, look for the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione GTA to also receive a more performance-oriented suspension.  The 8C GTA is expected to be limited to just 100 units, all priced from €232,500.
