Lamborghini employee and passenger killed during Gallardo test drive
Lamborghini Gallardo crash, two fatalities, 600, 06.05.2010

The driver of a Lamborghini Gallardo and his female passenger were killed in a one-car traffic accident in Wuppertal, Germany.  Witnesses at the scene said the yellow supercar was being driven too fast for the wet motorway.

An employee of the automaker, or one of its dealerships, was giving a test drive to a 28-year-old woman when the accident took place.  Others on the road said the Lambo was dangerously overtaking other cars, using the median to speed past some on the highway.

Eventually, the car launched into the air, slammed into a street light, and caught fire.  The driver was killed instantly, but the 28-year-old passenger managed to escape.

She later died at the scene while paramedics worked on her, awaiting the arrival of a rescue helicopter.

I think the driver was male. So the LP570 superleggera just launched into the air, slammed into a street light & then caught fire? how is it possible to launch itself unless there was another vehicle in front of them. And R.I.P. to them.

@chris25: He hit the guard rail on the middle of the street. I feel sorry for the woman, especially since this happened less than 30km away from me.

that's why you have to think before doing stupid shit, specially knowing that you have somebody else's life in your hands. If you plan on driving recklessly, do it while you're alone.

even alone, other drivers are also in danger... its really sad how ppl wanna show off in their expensive car when they cant even drive :(

Stupid driver. Aquaplaning can happen at 70km/h (~43mph), so driving a supercar on a wet motorway without speed limits is like playing Russian roulette; hit a puddle and you're quite certainly dead. It's a shame he took someone's life with his own. I don't feel sorry for the ass who drove the car.

Oh man, that is the new 570-4 right? Man, that is so screwed! The headlight is the only item that can be sold as a spare part. Oh, there were people inside? R.I.P. Don't go over the speed limit in heaven btw.

I have seen too many test drives gone bad... They should put a limiter on such cars to avoid those who never owned a supercar. I personaly tested many new cars yet never drove like an idiot "in the rain" Well, I hope they R.I.P!

A limiter does no good unless its set below 80 mph, anything above that, you're dead if you drive like an idiot. Is there a limiter for stupid drivers that can't handle their supercars?

He should have let the lady drive, it was her test drive. Showboating in the wet conditions putting everyone elses life at stake for a shot at a piece of ass. It's safe to say they both bought the car.

these test drive presentations should be done by professional test drivers, not some sales folks. I believe accident could have been avoided. 2 lives, so sad :(
