Renault Wind gets priced and equipped

The Renault Wind has officially gone on sale, with two trim levels available for customers to purchase.  Aside from the Dynamique and Exception trim versions, a limited edition model, called the Wind Collection, will be available from June 1.

Market launch and delivery of the vehicles is expected to begin in France this September.

As a base level car, the Wind Dynamique has a retail price of €17,500.  It comes with a 100 PS (74 kW) 1.2-liter turbocharged engine, and a host of standard features, like fog lights, rear spoiler, aluminum wheels, sport seats, airbags, power locks, and power windows.

The same engine is also available on the Wind Exception, which starts at €18,500, but customers can spend an extra €1,000 to get the 1.6-liter 16V engine that generates 133 PS (98 kW).  The Exception adds stability control, automatic climate control, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and more.

Meanwhile, the limited Wind Collection adds heated leather seats, glossy black roof, chrome exterior trim, and more.  The Collection goes for an even €20k with the small engine, or €21,000 with the bigger engine.

You can find out more about the car and its optional equipment in the press release below.

Definitely... That much money for a Renault... That is Audi A1's price range and I would have it over this twingo any time...

Why not get a VW Polo that the Audi A1 is just a pimped version of?

If it has a turbo, does that make it blown Wind?

Personally I like it and would buy one- preferably a Blue with white stripes Gordini- that would be cool

That is, however, a very fast top.

Yeah, the top is quite clever as it basically has only two moving parts: the roof itself and the lid on the trunk. Compared to those crazy origami designs that split the roof in multiple pieces for stowage. I like the car, but the problem for me is that it is French. Renault has always been at the bottom of Finnish mot test statistics. For example, last year 25% of the 3-year-old Lagunas didn't pass the mot test.

Quite a steep price for such a weird looking car. The 207cc is much nicer

So it's more like an automatic targa top. Sounds practical...since it will not invade into the trunk space as well.

I think it's quite good looking... something different for a change. I'm not a big fan of Renault but this looks interesting, little girly perhaps but interesting :D. Some tuning company should tune that little turbo engine...
