BMW Gran Coupe Concept design studio photos released
From paper to concept
BMW has released a behind the scenes glimpse at how the Gran Coupe Concept (GCC) was designed.
While the company declined to release additional information, BMW has previously stated the GCC was created to blend the "exclusivity of a Gran Turismo with the fascination of a high-performance sports car." Key design features include a "forward-tilted shark nose" front end, headlights with LED technology, a gently tapered roofline, frameless doors, and the iconic Hofmeister kink.
As you may recall, the Gran Coupe Concept was unveiled at last month's Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in China. It previews the next-generation 6-Series and a possible four-door coupe competitor to the Mercedes CLS and Audi A7.

I don't like the design because when it comes into production it will get a toned down. I'll agree that mercedes cls is a true 4 dr coupe & waiting for the facelift version.

Tend to believe that this concept reveals the design elements of the next 6 series, together with the fact that BMW will introduce a 4-door coupe ... that will surely look different.

I think the third or fourth pic with the hand sketches are actually the designs for the new 6 series as it looks like a coupe and the grand crapee does not. I also like all the reviews for new bms say they are uninvolving to drive even the z4 is! Time to stop using the ultimate driving machine tag

I like the car but I like a little more agressive , let see at the end what we can see...just like a sketch they have.

Seeing this car in the Sun newspaper Motoring section on Friday got me all BM DOUBLE WOOOED! It's the only post 'flame surfaced' BMW to get my vote that's for sure! A late entrant into the Merc CLS party, this concept will be a mega hit production car with UK, Stateside & even global customers. In my opinion, this car ranks with the Z4 and 6series as visually aggressive yet pleasing to the eye. Result. Can't wait to hear it!
