Aston Martin One-77 out for a stroll in London [Video]

A rare sight

Aston Martin's One-77 supercar has been spotted in the St. James district, of London.

While this extraordinary event is not commonplace, the car was traveling to Silverstone to promote the FIA GT1 World Championship.

As you may recall, the One-77 is powered by a 7.3-liter V12 engine with approximately 700 bhp (522 kW / 710 PS). While detailed performance specifications haven't been released, a pre-production prototype hit a top speed of 220 mph (355 km/h).

Priced in excess of £1,200,000 (€1,385,250 / $1,823,440), One-77 production will be limited to 77 units.

Looks like a pimped DB9. Not really impressed looking at the price tag...

It's what's underneath that counts. It's the gold-leaf engine bay, DTM-style suspension, the hand-formed aluminium bodywork, the extensive use of carbon fibre, the bespoke Cosworth-tuned 7.3 V12, the list goes on. It may not look as amazing on the outside (although it does make me bite my fist), but it is a very special motor car. Besides, it's £100,000 cheaper than that Bertone Mantide. And that was just a dressed-up ZR1.

One 77 should be the price, as in $177,000. Anything over that is ridiculous for a car that looks like a DBS with a cheap japanese body kit.

I'd sell my daughter for this car. I don't have a daughter, but I'm willing to have one just so I can sell her for this car.

I dont like it, it engine sounds gr8 but its not yet a Ferrari GTO contender, i wouldnt pay half the price for it. I would pick the Zonda or koenigsegg over it.

Stunning looking and sounding. Yes the price is stupid but at the end of the day its going to be with only 77 being made, when you think about how much money goes into the designing and production of these cars then its understandably going to be expensive. If you want exclusivity then you have to pay for it. Besides, this car is designed for the superrich, probably a large majority of them will land up in Dubai or somewhere, much like the Veyrons.

Aston's idea of the Reveton. Only problem is it is nowhere as cool and there are 3x as many out there. And to tell you the truth i find it quite grotesque in comparison to the normal DB9 or a DBS.

Looks pretty much the same as the rest of the Astons. Stupidly huge engine. Crazy prize tag. The only thing making this car exclusive is its prize. You get a car that looks pretty much the same as a car that costs one tenth of this thing. Performance? Where are you going to use it, unless you live in Germany? Completely pointless car =)

it's pointless saying that a car is pointless, it's not like you need to buy it.

That really is just a beautiful car. If I had the money for one, I wouldn't care if it'd beat a Ferrari, because in my mind, Astons really aren't known for being #1 or even #2 in the performance game. This is an amazing looking car though.

the video exposes an awful truth for today's super cars or status cars for some. the whole "fast car slow" problem. i realize this is shot in a metropolitan area, but other than bursts on the highways, how many super cars today, these 600+hp cars, are really going to be driven purposefully?

Central console buttons look unfinished on this vid. It's an okay looking car but not for not with a price tag like that. I'd take any special edition Pagani over this.

Why is this being compared to the 599 GTO? It makes no sense. The GTO is hardcore 599, designed for the track. The One-77 is not supposed to be some bonafied racer. It's built against the likes of the Pagani Zonda F, which is not a street legal racecar. It's a hypercar. Two totally different things.

I thought that the Maybach is overpriced... There is no doubt that this car is beautiful, but for 1.2 million pounds you could buy a Veyron!!! The car should be priced at 500-600k euros...

The GTO looks like a pimped GTB to me. The one-77 is just INSANE! Can't wait to see one in Dubai. And about the price tag, I'm pretty sure Aston doesn't worry about that. Plenty of people out there with enough cash to get their hands on one.
