Company will instead focus on the Traverse, Equinox, and Malibu

Chevrolet has decided not to sell the Orlando in the United States.

While the announcement is a bit of a surprise, the company will focus on increasing production of the Equinox, Traverse, and Malibu.

In an interview with Automotive News, Chevrolet's product marketing director for small cars and crossovers, Margaret Brooks, said "The best thing to do for Chevrolet is to focus on the brands we've already brought to market: the Traverse, Equinox, Malibu and, soon to come, the Cruze. We feel that with those vehicles, Chevrolet has plenty of options for the modern family."

As you may recall, the Orlando is a seven-seat crossover based on the Delta II platform. The production vehicle hasn't been unveiled, but a concept debuted at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and a Chevy Volt MPV5 concept variant was recently unveiled in Beijing.

Despite the cancellation of U.S sales, the Orlando will still be available in Canada, Europe and Asia.

This is based on the new Opel Zafira right? When I heard they were bringing it to replace the Daewoo Rezzo (Tacuma) here in Korea I got excited at the prospect of replacing our company utility car with this... I hope it doesn't get canned here

When you start using car keys more than you use your acne cream then you can join in adult conversation about automobiles. Is there not some video game website geared more toward people in your age group that you can go to.

I'm disappointed that GM won't sell the Orlando here, because it would have been a serious competitor against the Mazda5, Kia Rondo and Ford Grand C-Max. Don't be surprised that GM changes their mind fast, especially if they can develop an Ecotec 2.4-liter I-4 with DI rated at 200 bhp.
