2012 BMW F12 M6 Rendered
Based on the Concept Gran Coupe
It was only a matter of time until some crafty photoshop assassins put a hit on the alleged future BMW 6-Series. With fresh new materials to use, the fine folks at BimmerBoost have created some renderings of the 2012 BMW M6.
Based on Concept Gran Coupe, which debuted at last week's Beijing Motor Show, the M6 features an aggressive rear bumper (with an integrated diffuser), aerodynamic side skirts, front fender vents, and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.
While details are scarce, the M6 will likely be powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. Producing 570 hp (425 kW / 578 PS), same as the anticipated BMW M5, the engine should allow the M6 to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in under 4.2 seconds. How's that for speculation?

It's BMW nomenclature for each generation of a particular model, ie. the 95-01 7er was e38, the 02-09 7er was the e65/e66 (after facelift).

I just would like to add that now that they reached high numbers in the E series (the current 3 series coupe is the E92 for example) they chose to switch to the Fxx designation.
Another example is the current Porsche 911 which is type 997. The next generation 911 which is now running several tests at the ring will be the 911 type 998.

@kouki: not necessarily, there has been some speculation it could be the 991.

I need to see the front, but this is excellent. The V10 will be missed, however.

this is the difference between a designer and someone who thinks knowing photoshop makes him designer.

But BMW said that there won't be a new M6. There will be a 2 seat R8 rival instead.

Thank you for enlightening me. And this artist's rendering still has more elements of the Infinity brand than BMW.
