Dang, the beast is back. 0-60mph does not really mean much in a performance benchmark for a sedan. Up above this thing will pull really hard. The E60 M5 walks Gallardo's, cant wait to know the official specs for this things.

Let's see any stock M5 keep pace with an LP560-4....Not even worth a mention. I had both older cars. A 2005 Gallardo and a 2006 M5. The M5 was a better top end car since the Gallardo had terrible gearing back then. My LP560 is so much quicker than the my '05. Lambo finally got it right. That said, I am a huge BMW fan as well and currently have the new 7 series. Awesome car. I would love to get the new M5 as a daily driver...the best of both worlds!

@kimbo: have you been in a M5, let alone at high speeds? Because BavarianMS is actually right. The M5 has a higher top speed than the Gallardo, and it gets there about as fast. Gallardo has it beat for the 0-60, but that's because its AWD so its very quick of the line. Do not underestimate the speed of the M5--that car just keeps on going.

They are testing winter tires, when the car is on the lift it has Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D tires, when it is on the road it has Pirelli Winter Sottozero tires. Thats why it has wheel spin.

BMW has already posted an advert for this car even before it came out or was seen, it was a dog under a back seat. not sure if anyone else saw that advert.
As for this car beating a lamborghini gallardo, the LP560 is just quicker then the Porsche GT2 off the line, think someone is dreaming

Hate the car because of the car, not because you're influenced by the rantings of (A) holes. And this new M5 will not kill and eat the CTSV on the Ring, but it will likely be just a bit quicker. If Caddy decides to play the game of one upmanship they've always got the ZR1 engine to slide under the hood. I doubt they will though. And I'm not going to bother to tackle the issue of interior build quality because, as always, you get what you pay for, and the American car always costs less than the German one.

@kimbo...hav u ever been in an m5?if u hav been in that,ur 'm' button on the steering wil b on,Just press it,all kinda electronics will leave u from that enormous power..gallardos cant keep move forward bcoz of the smoke...

Good o'l trolls. If you look at the specs, the Gallardo wins 0-60, 0-100, 0-200. Also wins 60-0, 100-0, 200-0. The M5 is a great car but we have to be realistic here.

We were not talking about the latest Gallardo because the latest one was revised and improved. We are talking about the first gen Gallardo which came out a lil bit after the M5 came out.
The M5 walks it consistently 100-200.
Its obviously not going to happen to the new one because it packs more power.
Gallardo SE-512hp with 4wheel drive, it loses steam when compared to the M5s high revving v10 that has 507hp rear wheel drive.
The LP-560 had more power so it was game over.
