Heffner Ford GT allegedly crushes standing mile world record with 266.94 mph in Miami [Video]

Florida-based tuners Heffner Performance and experts at Hoffman Motorsports have allegedly set the world record for the fastest standing mile speed ever clocked.  Although unofficial, the Heffner Ford GT Twin-Turbo hit the one-mile marker at 266.938mph (429.595 km/h).

That is over 17 mph (27 km/h) faster than the speed achieved by the same car at The Texas Mile earlier this month.  The new mile run took place at the Miami Airport Runway event put on by Exotics Rally.

It is the dramatic increase in speed that has left many shaking their heads and wagging their fingers. However, according to Jalopnik.com the 1900 HP Ford GT was only pumping 26 pounds of boost at the Texas event while boost was turned up to an astonishing 41 pounds in Miami!

Drag strip fans are claiming that the timing equipment malfunctioned, while others have suggested that the gear was intentionally altered.

To put circumstances into perspective Heffner boss, Jason Heffner has stated, "With regard to this weekend's event and concerns about the timing equipment I do not have a lot to say. Prior to attending this weekend we were aware that any numbers obtained during the event may be considered "unofficial". The purpose of attending this event was to race against two of the other fastest one mile cars in the world on the same day at the same facility using the same timing equipment. At the end of the day we had the fastest time recorded and we have V Box data to verify the performance of our car.

Anyone that has doubts about the numbers posted for our car from this weekend will be at a loss for words once this fall's Texas Mile takes place, I personally guarantee this and I hope to see you guys there."

Until then, you can watch video of the run right here.  Let us know your opinion in the comments below.

A 5.4L engine on 41 pounds of boost... I'm not sure if I'm working the math correctly but I think that this engine is consuming as much air as a 15.0L engine.

More details here: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/american-muscle/209030-heffner-peformance-ford-gt-266-9-standing-mile-3.html "They did have to reset the timing equipment and even they had a pass that was off. Kinda funny how they all ran under the same timing equipment but the yellow car was the only one that went fast LOL. Performance power went 255 inwhich they went 252 before in march. Underground went 247 on gps and timing equipment said 232 it was fixed after that.... The yellow car in question ran 249.7 in texas with only 26lbs of boost. It makes a hair over 1400rwhp with 26lbs of boost. It picks up 40rwhp per pound of boost, they ran 41lbs of boost in miami and it made 1835 rwhp with 37lbs of boost on the dyno earlier in the week. It maxed out two sets of id1000 injectors in miami with 45lbs of base fuel pressure...IT went 168ph in the quarter on the mile, inwhich when we were in texas it only went 155 on the v-box with 26 lbs of boost. IT went over 220 in the half mile and over 250 in the 3/4. In texas we went 250 at the 3/4 mile mark, but it only had 2 sets of 80lbs injecotrs and we maxed them out and the motec studdered the last 1/4 mile. That was with 37 lbs of boost. We picked up 9 mph to the 3/4 mile mark in texas by going from 27 to 37 lbs of boost and in Texas it was easily on a 260+ pass..."

This helps me put the Veyron more in perspective. I've done so much speculation about how difficult it is to go 252.*mph. It may not be easy, but one does not need a million dollar car, nor an super exotic engine. Good job in reminding me to come to my senses.

@DearS: also put in prospective that Veyron is half a ton heavier than Ford and has 4WD and still doesn't need almost a 2000hp or 44,9453034 of boost to do 250mph! Veyron also does it much safer and comfortable and you can have some trust in it...it is more durable and can repeat same result over and over again! this tuned (boosted up) Ford GT is useless...I would prefer production one with a slight tuning or no tuning at all.

Do realize this ford does it from a standing start in less than 1 mile. They veyron takes a running start and five miles to get up to 250mph.

also i'd like to point out that as much as i hate American cars (Chevvy Camaro nonwithstanding) the Ford GT seems like a very nice place to be. don't get me wrong, i'd prefer the Veyron, but to say that the Veyron is safer or more comfortable is pure conjecture.

I wonder the true potential of this thing if you give it a real nice running start. 1 mile runway to top out a such a beast is a huge handicap.

I feel the Veyron is the better all round car. Also that the Veyron is a compromised car as well. Its amazing that it go around races tracks fast too, still it does not mean its more fun than a regular Ford GT or Gallardo for me. I like the Veyron, but I don't want to feel its the answer to my enthusiast dreams like its made out to be.

i think the veyron has too much class for many hence the retarded behavior of comparing such a legendary piece of machinery to this piece of shit. its like comparing classy lennox lewis to the man-eating cannibal cum rapist mike tyson, some so stupid they couldnt even tell the difference

That is heroic speed! I don't care how luxurious the veyron is at 400km/h that is not the point. The point is that this ford gt can get to that speed and faster in a standing mile. Anyway If you want a luxury car, buy a Bentley

Some cars drove to the line, turned off the A/C and ran while others had tire warmers, were iced up, and were towed to the line so.....I ask..."are all cars in the same class?"
