Except that somewhere deep under the Chrysler 300 lurks a two generations-old Mercedes E-Class. Could be worse.

RWD seems to be making a comeback. First Toyabaru and now Alfa. Doesn't necessarily need to be a bad thing. Chrysler has the know-how to make a good chassis (Viper?), and Alfa has the know-how to make even mediocre chassis acceptable.

Auto enthusiasts may get screwed in this deal. That Charger platform needs to go to Jenny Craig pronto.

They want to build the Alfa Spider on the same platform as the Challenger?...
What a joke. Enthusiasts buy small roadsters as such because of their low weight and great chassi's (ie: miata, elise, and the old spider). This would inevitably be a disaster.

They could go ahead and build it on a Radio Flyer and it wouldn't matter. The styling of this is off the charts. As in the past, it upstages the sturdy German competition with great flare. There's nothing like a nicely penned Italian line. There hasn't been a design like in years. May it start a Renaissance in automotive styling.

Alfa deserves a proper RWD platform, but the plan to use an old, heavy one is disappointing. The Challenger is a pig, and the current Brera/Spider, as pretty as they are, could use a diet as well.

I think I just died and gone to heaven! Why can't Ferraris look like this?! If only they can sort out electronic gremlins and engineering hiccups; a friend I met at my local mechanic a matter of days ago, was repairing the engine of his Alfa coupe for the SECOND time! But who gives a monkeys when cars look this RED-HOT?! Mama mia! However, this could end in tears for Alfa Romeo using Chrysler's RWD platform!
