Nice to see at least 1 website reporting this prototype with more realistic name. The whole world seems to be obsessed with calling this the M1 when any automotive enthusiast knows BMW would never call it that.

M1 is the first m car and by calling this tiny+ugly but superior thing with M1 will kill the M1's history among car enthusiast. However BMW may have a M2 in the future to represent the hardcore version of 1-series coupe/cabriolet as the 1 series line up will be totally hatch only or maybe with wagon model.

If Mercedes-Benz really is working on that B32 AMG with +- 290 kW, BMW better have something really good in their wings as their response.
That said, I hope that the next 1-series looks a heck of a lot better than this thing.

i doubt they will call it the M1 after that other concept car was shown, it should stick to the 135i M and have a different engine to the rest of the range
