2012 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG latest action photos at Nurburgring
Spies in Germany caught a fresh set of photos featuring the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG. Seen racing around the Nürburgring, some of the four-door's LED lighting at the front and back can be seen through the camouflage.
When the CLS 63 goes on sale next year in Europe, it will likely feature a seven-speed automatic transmission paired to a new twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that generates about 536 bhp (400 kW / 544 PS). Stepping up to the AMG Performance Package will get the customer an extra 27 bhp (20 kW / 27 PS).
The performance-focused executive four-door coupe will be a formidable opponent to the Aston Martin Rapide, Audi S7, and Porsche Panamera Turbo.

Cool car, the Torque has given AMG some advantage in the past. Interesting to see them finally pair that torque with a 7 speed.
Now that BMW is changing their game to torque as well, I expect there will be nothing in their way in the performance department.
I am talking mainly about the new M5. Its about time.

I agree it's about time they developed a proper gearbox for all that torque! Mating the s/sl/cl 65 amg with a five speed was a bit old fashioned, even though it's still an animal to drive!
