2011 BMW X3 Prototype Reveals New Body Details Via Less Camouflage
The middle child
Our spies have caught new pictures of BMW's redesigned 2011 X3.
Inching closer to production, the mule has dropped much of its psychedelic camouflage. This allows us a better glimpse of the front bumper, grille, headlights, and greenhouse. Overall, the X3 appears slightly larger, which puts it squarely between the X1 and the facelifted X5.
Under the hood, petrol power will be provided by two 3.0-liter inline sixes (one naturally-aspirated, one turbocharged). On the diesel side, we can expect a variety of options with outputs ranging from 177 hp (132 kW / 179 PS) to 300 hp (223 kW / 304 PS).
Look for a possible unveiling at the Paris Motor Show in September.

The first generations of X3 and X5, I've always prefered X3...this time I'm not quite sure...

So far I like it. I thought the first gen X3 was a bit too busy and a bit too ugly.
