Mercedes has released official pictures of the 2011 R-Class, ahead the New York Auto Show.
The ho-hum styling is replaced with a bolder design, which should help to reinvigorate sales. Major changes include a new front bumper, a modified grille, redesigned headlights, and a revised hood. Out back, there's LED taillights, a restyled bumper, and new trapezoidal exhaust tips.
Inside, the interior is virtually unchanged. There are several new color choices, an AMG interior package (with Nappa leather sports seats, an AMG steering wheel, and stainless steel pedals), and new safety features like Blind Spot Assist and NECK-PRO.
Engine options will likely include a 3.5-liter petrol V6, with 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 210 hp (157 kW / 213 PS) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque.
