Next it will be Big Brother disabling your car. I wonder who the main financial backer of this Webtech Plus company is.

To some extent, this is a good idea. Especially when it comes to police chases. But as with all things the government inserts itself into, there needs to be limitations and restrictions.

It doesn't matter what it is...as long as it was purchased through this dealer the system was installed in it.

Well what I understand of OBD III is that it will include among other things a GPS tracker and sensors in the seats so that information on where the vehicle is going and how many people are within can be accessed by the forces that be at any time. Add to that crap like On Star which could probably be tapped into to listen in on occupants of a car and privacy is gone. At some point I will drive antiques, build up kit cars, or dig through every new car I buy ripping out sensors and replacing them with emulators.

I don't think that this will work, cause you can have a heavy bag on a seat or so and the sensor will detect it as a 'person'..

some day they will replace police for traffic. The sensors will remotly send the infractions to police
