UK Truck Gets New Clio Hood Ornament - Driver Oblivious [Video]

Odd accident caught on film

In a bizarre accident, a truck hit a Renault Clio and kept driving - taking the Clio for a ride.

While details are scarce, the event was captured by a motorist on the A1(M) near Wetherby, UK. Thankfully, the truck driver eventually stopped and both he and the Clio driver emerged unharmed. It remains unclear how the Clio got stuck, how long it was stuck, and how the truck driver failed to notice.

According to the truck's owner, Arclid Transport, an investigation is currently underway.

I thinking this is a fake. Some stunt where a guy hooked up a clio to the front of the rig and decide to drive it around and gather attention. Cause theres is no way the driver of the rig can not have known that he is pushing a car and there also appears to be no impact damage to the Clio. Then again I could be wrong.

Im with you on this one, the Clio doesnt look damaged at all and there doesnt seem to be any attempt from the Clio driver to get the attention of the truck driver eg. honking the horn.

it's a tall cab. It looks like the entire car is out of his viewing angle as the semi passes.

If that were the case, I'm sure the driver of the rig would have felt the impact of the car and like I mention in my last message theres no damage to the Clio. plus if a Truck slams in to a car, Logical action would be that the lighter car be thrown aside. Theres are so many scanerios that come to mind, eitherway, this is an odd "accident"

This real. It's been on the Channel 4 (UK) news just now. It happened in January and both the haulage company and police knew about it at the time.

Clio must have been parked in front of the semi when the semi took off. If his trailer is loaded he'd be using lower gears and not even feel the extra "load". Imagine a gridlock and this Clio was blocking the way, really close to the semi when the semi-driver got the green light. The semi possible was reaching for a dounut when the car drove up in front and couldn't go further due to a traffic jam.

Watch the brake lights on the Clio. On and then off. Seems to be someone in the car. Did the car end up getting pulled under or thrown to the side? I bet that was wild ride.

Not fake. Similar thing happened in Melbourne about 18 months ago. Trucks have a big blind spot on the opposite corner to where the driver sits. See similar footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1LM8TtSLZ0

I saw something similar to this once. I was in stop and go traffic and a large long nose semi started pushing a Cutlass. The truck driver never saw the car until some other drivers including myself got his attention and he rammed the Cutlass into the back of a VW. It was a bit horrifying to watch the poor driver in the Olds who didnt know what to do.
