the fundamental problem is: the whole Volt thing is a "concept" & GM announced to produce just to show "we gonna have it"... few months back Car & Driver have a story about Volt, GM only shows it runs on electric only & didn't show how that plug-in hybrid works...that's mean something! if the Volt is ready for the market by the end of this year (or early next year), they should have a prototype for testing...but until now, GM still has no proof they can product such vehicle. what they can do? buy some time, buy out media to "produce" stories to attack Toyota!

then let me put my point to the lower level that you can understand: GM is not able to put it into production, not Converj, not even Volt! GM don't even has a prototype to test yet, even they've announced it will be available to the market later this year/ early next year. how simple is that?

First let me apologize for the 3 identical posts, I had no idea that when you hit the refresh button it re-sends the post. Now speaking of levels, maybe we should slow down and actually read what we are typing. Anybody who uses statements like,"GM don't even has a prototype" I guarantee never graduated high school. If they did they could be the poster child for our failing school system. Finally I seriously doubt that GM would stick their necks out like that on a gamble. They have the technology, there is nothing new here. Maybe the battery tech is a little tricky, but surely they have their heads wrapped around it. It's not rocket science..... well to you, maybe.

yes, it's not rocket science, but the point is, GM couldn't put it together! how simple is that? it explained why car & driver has a story few months back, said GM ONLY has the Volt which driven by electric ONLY. if, listen you-think-you-are-smart-college-grad, Volt is ready for the market late this year or early next year, it shouldn't happen & there should be a prototype to do the testing on the road. yes, there is no rocket science...you can even google how to make an rocket, but, can you put it together, smart-a s s?

You sound like you have quite a "charge". That's quite a theory. Search on the Volt and read about the first drive reports on it. "Green automotive journalists have written about using it in both electric and gasoline recharging modes. You're taking a position that will is hard to recover from if you are wrong. GM may have porduced looser cars, but I doubt they'd be posting a calendar count down if they didn't have a parallel hybrid close to market.

What is it about the auto industry. They bring out a concept that everyone wants and nothing, then they end up producing garbage that no one wants. No wonder 'alf these companies are going to the wall! I'm still waiting for the Alfa Mito GTA please!

I don't really see this as competing with the LS 600H. I can see how it would be problematic for them to have this and the CTS Coupe. Bummer. It was one of the few interesting things they seemed to have on the horizon.

not good enough LOL, too long with the push-rod mentality

I forgot this was a hybrid. I thought this design just matured into the CTS Coupe. The US may mourn, but it's no real loss for the rest of us.

Well, GM doesn't need to prove to me that they're capable of producing a combustion-engine/electric hybrid vehicle. I would know because I used to repair them with my own two hands. Most of them were over 50 years old. And no, I'm not talking about cars.

if produced this can easily compete with the upcoming lexus CT series...

Once again GM not quite able to beat the competition...good riddance!

I know why, but it still sucks EIGHT YEARS later that Caddy never built the Cien as a production car. THAT would have been one hell of a halo car.

I don't mind it. Doesn't fit to cadillac anyway.

This is a fine looking concept but with GM being GM, of course it's not going to make production. GM doesn't know what people want. GM doesn't care what people want. They can go down the shithole for all I care. I'd rather see decent European, Asian cars pollute our streets than the junk that GM puts on our streets.

It's a shame to waste such a beautiful design... I really couldn't care less if it ran on air, just produce a normal petrol version of it already!
