make them start the race on the actual tyres they qualify in, not just same compound tyres. bring back last year's bigger separation of tyre compounds and give teams the choice of when to use tyres - drop the rule of having to use 2 compounds. teams can quali on a fast tyre needing extra stop or harder tyre for no extra stop. lower teams can just 1 stop. teams stuck in backmarkers can come in, put on sprint tyres, get back out and chase through the pack. maybe even just drop the mandatory use of both compounds just for non top 10 qualifiers

or have a bloke with a hose on one corner during the race... bernie scheduled malaysia in monsoon - was certainly interesting (even if half points were a bit complicated)
