I can't tell much difference from the old one. Given the choice, I would rather have the RR Phantom. Within MB, I'll go with the S65 AMG. It's time for them to make some major changes to the platform rather than this cosmetic thing. It needs to base on the new s-class floorpan. This thing is a little dated as of now.

Rejuvinate the brand? It's the same car! All they've done is add a few creases to sharpen it up a little. But that's far from a sufficient change. This car has been around since 2002. Eight years unchanged. It looked like a jumped up S-Class then, but my car-savvy Dad saw one (a Zeppelin edition, to be precise) the other day and thought it was something Russian or Chinese, not German. So I guess introducing it to China is only apt.
I also read that it is the worst-depreciating car in the UK, losing ?350 of its value EVERY DAY!

Good thing I could never afford one, I would so not want to buy one of these.

I love me some good ol' Maybach, yes indeed!
It's fairly common for a Marque such as Maybach to retain its guise for nearly 10 if not more years. Not much secret there. "Real money" appreciates it.
The Maybach (62) is certainly one which many find very beautiful but not too many would purchase, but alas...the public loves to see it.. (atleast those here in NYC). It's pretty taste specific. The extent to which it bothers Daimler is anyones guess.
All of this hoopla about the sub-ubdated Maybach.. Errmm...remember the Phantom? The last time I checked, that pony hadn't been touched much at all either... You really don't touch such cars up much. In my opinion, there is something incredibly elegant and timeless about that, especially since both the Maybach and Phantom always manage to look new and sparkly amongst the city traffic. It's got a few more years imo.

I'd much rather take a Benz 600 or or even two for the price of this. Maybachs do not have nearly as much road presence as the Phantom and they're becoming pretty dated now.

Ah geez, here we go with some more LED-jewelry. It's getting old, and adding it to the Maybach only spoils it further.
