Hummer H2 Gets Chrome Wrap - Art or Abomination?

German tuner CFC makes a pimped-out version of the Hummer H2

Didn't we just read a few weeks ago that GM was shutting down the Hummer brand for lack of a buyer?

Maybe the news hasn't made its way to German tuner CFC yet. And perhaps they also haven't heard that the days of conspicuously pimped-out SUVs are kind of over.

The Weilheim-based CarFilmComponents (CFC) is offering a tuned-out version of the Hummer H2, done over in a not-so-subtle "burning chrome" lamination. Yes, the car is actually coated with an adhesive film.

The bonnet is covered in a black carbon film while the side and rear windows are draped with CutLine ThermoTec, one of the many registered trademark materials from CFC, that make them look an awful lot like conventional tinted windows.

The 480 hp (353 kW) H2 comes with massive 28-inch light alloy wheels wrapped in Kumho tires of 325/35 R28 dimensions. There are also the interestingly-named LSD wing doors and a FOX performance exhaust system.

There's a couch done in a mix of leather and Alcantara and a mini-bar too. From which one can enjoy the massive multi-media system which includes a digital TV, DVD player, and XETEC amplifiers and subwoofers.

There are cameras at the front and back (images displayed on a dashboard screen) for parking assistance. But one may opt to keep this Hummer still and use it solely as a funked-out basement living room.

Burning Chrome - Hummer H2 by CFC®CarFilmComponents

Take your Hammer and drive it sexy: CFC® company with its head office in Weilheim has trimmed its Hummer with a striking "chrome" lamination. Tarted up with every imaginable outfit, the sport-style H2 steadily takes the lead. Some vehicles are completely laminated afterwards, the others, on the contrary, already have it right inside. The Hummer by CFC® has it both: it's a Hummer to stare at and to speak about.

The trend of decorating a car with film to create a noticeable work of art had already been attempted by the CFC® years ago. In the meantime, this exceptional art of car lamination was outstandingly applied... and this is really great!

The motor hood was covered with CFC® ExteriorStyle Premium "black carbon", and side windows, along with the rear window, were furnished with CutLine ThermoTec® of the "classic-style" colour.

The installed 28-incher TunerShop light-alloy tyre rims, for example, produce the same attractive and fear-arousing effect as the outside appearance. They carry mammoth-sized 325/35 R28 pneumatic tyres by Kumho.
The Wimmer technology of performance improvement by means of software optimization by 480 hp, LSD wing doors, as well as FOX sports exhaust system make every Hummer a dangerous monster of the streets.

The Hummer driver can enjoy the saucy performance to the full in a totally stuffed cabin: Car Entertainment devices create a sort of incantation here. Among other things, there are 17 Axion displays (on the ceiling, sunscreen, central console between the front seats, trunk and doors), a DVD-player, XETEC amplifiers, XETEC subwoofers and digital television to feast your eyes on. For the "musical therapy" a 1.360-Watt RMS music system is available.

Front and backward movement cameras simplify the parking process. Everyone who appreciates convenience can comfortably sit on the leather couch right next to the mini-bar. No other thing compares to the mix of leather and Alcantara which was used as coating material for the most of surface of seats and saloon siding and was covered by the auto tuners Zwickenpflüg.

H2 Hummer is the bomb! and I would love to drive an SUV like the one above. Hummer never died, it just took off for a couple of year, but now it's back bigger, better and stronger, and most likely even greener. Maybe the news hasn't made its way to the author of the article above, Hummer is alive again!!!: http://www.hummerguy.net/hummer-news/hummer-plant-coming-back-online-to-fill-849-unit-fleet-order I feel sorry for all the Hummer haters above... Watch out, your silly Honda Prius & BMW 3 series may get run over by my Hummer H2... or you may be lucky if you're driving a Toyota and outrun my H2 unconsciously with no control ... however, you'll end up crashing into a tree, you silly tree huggers :) ... just pathetic...

Not art, but there is nothing wrong with that vehicle. It is a show car. You guys act like you've never seen a Hummer on 24s with a monster sound system and custom paint job before. I personally like the H2 and hate the H1 and H3. 80% of these vehicles will never see the light of day off road anyway. Why not pimp it out? Besides, the Hummer deal fell through and the Chinese company that was going to buy it no longer wants it so the remaining Hummers will probably become rolling billboards or parts vehicles OR for the enthusiasts who still want a true off-roader, there will be 1/2 priced fun on tap.

I think jeremy clarkson's quote applies really well to this vehicle: "It was made for a world by a world that doesn't exist anymore." Go back maybe 4 or 5 years and poeple may buy this. But now, who would since hummer is dead ?

Off road must be a real pain on rims that size. Oh, and you would have to worry about scratching the paint.

Seems like I'm the only one who like this, as my dream H2 would have a chrome exterior what's missing is a supercharger

Anything which is being used by a human to do something can not be considered as "Art". An Art is just to see or admire depending on someone's personal feelings toward it. A car is created to transport people. So all the works done to make a "beautiful" car is Design. (I know it has nothing to do with this Hummer but I just wanted to add). As a conclusion, this H2 is an abomination =)

It will be a good day when I never have to see another anything about Hummer. It should never have been made in the first place and Im glad it will be a thing of the past just like the other dinosaurs of long ago.
