German tuners Hofele have released details about their new package of mods for the Audi A8 (D4).  The kits release coincides with Audi's reveal of the new version of their flagship four-door.

A press release claims that the car realizes faster acceleration times of 5.2- and 5.3-seconds to 100 km/h depending on petrol or diesel engine.  The petrol 4.2-liter FSI V8 has been improved to 400 PS (294 kW / 395 bhp) and up to 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque, while the TDI is boosted to 395 hp (290 kW / 390 bhp) and up to 880 Nm (649 lb-ft).  Fuel consumption remains at 9.5- (29.7 mpg imp) and 7.6-liters (37.1 mpg imp) of fuel per 100 kilometers, for the petrol and diesel, respectively.

Extra power brings the need for extra brake power, which is provided by larger, ventilated steel disc brakes that can be swapped for ceramic discs.  Six-piston brakes were also added.  The car's suspension is lowered by between 40 and 80 millimeters, though it returns back to its original factory setting when traveling at 80 mph (129 km/h) and over.  New alloy wheels measure 9.5x20" front and 10x22" in back, which look like a tight squeeze thanks to the lower wheel wells.

Other mods include a new front end with larger air inlets and front fender outlets, redesigned side sills, and a remodeled rear bumper with diffuser and quad exhaust.  A decklid spoiler has also been added.  Inside, quilted two-tone leather, Alcantara, and a new steering wheel can all be found.

Pricing for the Hofele Audi A8 kit was not released.

i am very bored of this hahhaah... impressive technology and interior as always from audi. but the exterior design is dull, boring, and is def not unique from the other models. its.... just dull lol there's nothing "surprising" about this car. there's no "excitement" ahhh there's the word... lack of excitement hahah

i am bored with audi for years already... but seems that it's their strategy to be boring and it seems to be quite successful. I guess because when someone buys a car, it's a good thing that its style will hardly ever change so it can be kept longer.

I like the new A8 and I'm not bored. This kit makes it looks like a concept-car. 395 hp for a diesel is amazing

boring Audi strategy????? :D so funny read this cr.p :D maybe for Audi haters that is boring, but who cares, becouse sales increased for 35.7% this year and thats most important. Good job Audi keep that way, your real fans always stays with you, you are the best..... btw this A8 looks awsome, i like it, but still waiting for S8 by MTM ;)

So...you being a REAL FAN of Audi, you are waiting for a car that has modification from another company? How can you call yourself an Audi fan if you're expecting for the S8 tuned by MTM? Is it because you too are bored with the A4 and a bunch of distorted mirrors sitting next to it?

@CoktailRO I don't see how being a fan of a particular tuner and manufacturer mutually exclude one another. MTM does a fairly good job tuning Audis.

The original one looks better than this stupid looking kit. The fender grill looks retarded.

This is German styling. Take a great looking car, add lots of cheap plastic body kits and ugly rims. The new A8 is beautiful as it is and I bet that the S8 if it comes, will look exclusive sporty and not cheap like this. Getting bored of companies that try and improve designs that are great by making them look crap.

I think the nail has been hit on the head. Audi is now where BMW was 10-15 years ago. Business is booming so there's no need to play a new hand just yet. It would seem boring is working for them. Up until Bangle came around BMWs looked very 'business.' Audi just seems to be following in that pattern ironically. I don't think this will stop until they choose to do something drastic with the current corporate look. Still I can't help but to think the dissenters want everything to be a 4 door Ferrari. Boring? I see elegant, modern and cohesive. I'm not sure what else you want from luxury cars.
