Not sure about the 500C, but I love the new Punto Evo Abarth. Not only has it got a cool name, it looks way more like a proper hot hatch than the previous model.

Being the owner of an '06 Punto, I'm inclined not to like the 'Evo', purely because it's made mine worth less for little reason. But it does look good (only in Abarth trim though, the normal one isn't as pretty as mine :-P), go cleaner, and as I discovered the other day at the showroom, it has a much nicer interior. The 500C Abarth I don't really get. The Abarth hardtop as I must now refer to it was the sporty, butch version, the 500C was the girly car of choice. What to make of this Abarth 500C?

I get your point. I think they didn't make the same distinction as you did between "girly" and "butch" but rather created a mini competitor. The mini is available as a convertible S version, so the 500 must offer the same model options. Since the comparison between mini and 500 was drawn in this article, especially in regards to performance, it should be noted that Fiat have an advantage over the mini: What Zack Newmark failed to mention is that the Abarth versions are available in standard and essesse trim. Which means you can have a more mellow hot hatch, and a direct 160Bhp 7.4 sec mini S competitor.
