Stunned. That back is so nice, looks like an R8 crossed with the Carrera GT...hopefully this is a hint of something good to come.

Wahow ..... stunning ! It was hard to design something better than the Carrera GT. They kind of did it :-)

A futuristic, hybrid Carrera GT with weird rims. Personally don't really like it..really want to see a proper Carrera GT successor.

i agree, i would really like to see porsche step out of the mold a bit more. this looks a carrera gt that's been done up by a tuner, it looks almost identical from the body countours to the center console (which apparently they think is a major break from past design). the way the headlights and front air dam come together looks like a ferrari 430 rip off. this is disappointing design wise, exceedingly impressive performance wise.

it's just a concept, did you see the first Carrera GT concepts ?

Amazing! It looks like a Porsche without looking like a 911. Although I think that if they really make this, it will either have a different powertrain or then it is not going to be the entry-level model based on the R4 platform.

It's supposed to be a top-of-the-line model, not entry level.

Yeah, I was referring to the article, which is wondering if this could be the entry-level Porsche.

OMG ... this Porsche guys are crazy ! I really dont't have words to say my reaction after reading the performance stats .. wow, if they will produce it in mass/limited edition they will change the course of the car history of the new millenium !!

Amazing and breathtaking. Its a beautiful departure from the 911 design that they simply touch up. The interior is nice too, adds a unique touch to the car.

Creation like 918 is exactly why I want to say thank you to all Cocky Panamera/Cayenne buyers.

i guess that's the V8 from the Cayenne turbo. maybe they will replace it with the 530hp engine from the 911 turbo S. after all , the first Carrera GT concept had only 558 hp. looks like Wiedeking was right , they do intend to use rear view cameras instead of mirrors.

It's not the V8 from the Cayenne, but a de-tuned V8 from the RS Spyder.

yeah, i read the press release. i didn't expect to see a high rev engine, but a high rev engine makes more sense in a hybrid , the high rpm makes it a better generator.

Danm now this is a sweet looking replacement for the Porsche GT. But sadly it's ain't. Don't think Porsche should stoop so low as to creating a hybrid, which has no place for super cars/sport cars, Still love the look,

everyone is forced to make hybrids, Ferrari made one too and Lambo are working on one.

I know of the 599 and lambo is doing one for the Garalldo. But that doesn't mean I have to agree with it.

those plastic covers are there to improve efficiency , but you can take them off.

I always thought the Carrera GT was too conservative styling-wise to justify its price tag. But this 918 looks quite delicious to my eyes, and those evil, industrial looking side-pipes look very fighter plane-ish. Maybe some savvy tuner could mess with the ECM to allow some unburnt fuel into the exhaust system so that curbside chihuahuas could be engulfed in flames. Would be a cool party trick.

looks like the old 908 type racers, pure porsche. Always remembering the past while defining the future.
