Any info about the price ?? The exterior design is AWSOME!I love the interior design too!!
February 27, 2010 4:17 pm
IM SORRY BUT WHAT? This is epic fail. Taking "a bit of this and a bit of that" should not be taken literally by the designers. Not a single line on this car matches any other line.
BABOW.
February 27, 2010 4:18 pm
Another hybrid. Now this one has what looks like a mouse on the center console. What's next?!...a scroll wheel?! Enough already. I guess the human race just doesn't know how to keep it simple (KISS). Just give me a damn diesel.
February 27, 2010 4:19 pm
Outdated...a car with the most advanced hybrid technology ?? hahah.... i think your mind is outdated!
This car will be a hit for Lexus ;)
February 27, 2010 6:03 pm
he's referring to the design. its boring, its not surprising, its pretty much a mazda 3 spoofed up with added sex appeal lol
February 27, 2010 6:08 pm
@ sealover94 or should I say Einstein, like carcrazy sad I'm referring to this boring design, nobody mentioned technology only you.
What a dumbass!
February 27, 2010 6:40 pm
Anybody who thinks this has sex appeal needs to step away from the internet porn immediately.
February 27, 2010 7:01 pm
@X6M you are sucj a looser... just like your posts...
And lets talk about the design... Which one is a well-designed luxury hatchback for you ?? The old boring BMW 1 ?? The 10-years old design philosophy of Audi in Audi A3?
The L-FINESSE philosophy is light years ahead of any other brand's (especially mazda's) So go and get your pathetic german hatchback hahah
February 27, 2010 7:06 pm
You are an idiot if you really think that this car reflects years of advancement on other "contemporary" models. It is a poor imitation of some excellent designs.
It looks like it was put together by a 7 year old kid with a pair of scissors, some old car magazines and some wheat paste.
February 27, 2010 7:20 pm
aight guys... lets just call it a generic design with some pretty neat features on the inside and call it a day and buy a beautiful, unique automobile such as the jag XF and go home as a winner :)
and i meant sex appeal compared to the mazda 3. put both beside each other, annnnnnd my point is proven lol. this is sharper, bolder, and also with much more quality compared to the 3. but at the end of the day, its still boring, and generic and original and has no uniqueness. not hating on the car really, just saying its boring and has nothing special about it VISUALLY.
k pce
February 27, 2010 7:26 pm
Start talking out of your mouth and not your other end. There is nothing neat or unique on the inside. I just looked at the Mazda3 vis a vis the CT 200h, and I think you need your eye's checked. The much older Mazda3 is much sharper and bolder, is nothing even close to generic, has exceptional build quality and finish. This Lexus though looks like a 16 yo was told to design a car in photoshop with the brief "Start off with an old old Mazda 3, then watch The Fast and The Furious. After you've done that, modify that Mazda3 to appeal both to the 16 yo that would buy a 6 yr old Mazda3 then slap a body kit on it, as well as his dad.
I repeat, the Lexus is EPIC FAIL.

There is nothing 'outdated' about this car's design. I don't find it particularly attractive but what do you expect from a Japanese hatchback.
February 27, 2010 8:17 pm
I wouldn't say it looks outdated, but it just doesn't look that much fresher than rivals that have been on the market for several years now. The interior looks nice though.
February 27, 2010 9:27 pm
Alfaq romeo are the ugliest car ever designed!Anyway... some people need to test their eyes first! The lines and curves of CT200H are AMAZING !! CLASSIC BEAUTY !!!
Well done LEXUS!!
February 28, 2010 5:01 am
"Alfaq romeo are the ugliest car ever designed!" - there goes your credibility.
February 28, 2010 6:45 am
@X6M the interior design is outdated, not the exterior
@sealover94 your name indicates you're born at 94, which is a disgrace to everyone at that age group and Alfa Romeo the ugliest car ever? you're a disgrace to yourself and the fact you're the one who should have his eyes tested
February 28, 2010 3:56 pm
I'll take the more beautiful Alfa because this is in fact a Toyoda.
February 27, 2010 4:23 pm
Congratulations. How long until you work out that Chevrolet is GM?
February 27, 2010 5:03 pm
Good for you, but I presume that you know that the Alfa is a Fiat.
February 27, 2010 5:53 pm
Imagine how much it will rock his world when he realises that Bugatti is VW!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!111one11
February 27, 2010 7:21 pm
i'm really curious to see how this will work for lexus. this car will come to Europe with a knife to a gun fight. the only way they can sell it is if they make it considerably cheaper than the competition and load it with options.
February 27, 2010 5:36 pm
As expected we have some of the goons coming in predicting the fate and sale of this vehicle that is yet to be released! While we are at it, does the world end in 2012??? And what are the lotto numbers for next week???
February 28, 2010 2:27 am
Even "car experts" ... need to know sth VERY important first in order to "predict" the fate &sales !! IT CALLED P R I C E of CT200H ;)
February 28, 2010 6:08 am
Ehm... I can't stand that a person would say this Lexus hatch is more beautiful than Brera. That is disgusting... Actually it is true that the design reflects the most of Mazda 3, however this Lexus is much nicer and bolder (another way to say elegance but in boring way). The interior is not nicer than A3 or even 1 series(if you spec it up), too many plasticism on the centre which kills the classy feel. The rear end is the best from Japan's hatch ever. Hope it comes to OZ and be an alternative for 118d or A3 1.4 TSI
February 28, 2010 6:14 am
I like Lexus but this CT200H is the weakest effort I remember from the company.
The interior is lovely and the rear is reasonably nice but the rest is... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
February 28, 2010 9:27 am
Actually looks more like a re-badged Matrix with a Subaru butt and a IS front end spliced on. Otherwise, it's a humdrum design that looks like the rest of the Lexus lineup. Still, it'll sell enough to lower Lexus' CAFE (US) numbers so not to incur any financial penalties for the corporation, but not enough to be particularly popular because of it's price point.
Can't really say the design issues are unusual compared to other manufacturers (BMW, Audi) who have decided to "breed" similar looks across different models to create a "unified company image". Just downright boring.
February 28, 2010 1:02 pm
i think this Lexus will doing great in the market. it's not the looks, it's not the price, it's because it's a Lexus. yep, it's made by Toyota, but please note that Lexus is the luxury line of Toyota, & lots of efforts to bring it upscaled. pls, u people pls stop saying' "it's a Toyota", it's not fair to the name Lexus.
February 28, 2010 1:15 pm
It's a re-badged TOYOTA MATRIX - plain and simple. Toyota still owns Lexus, and are using a common platform to reduce costs. So get over it!
February 28, 2010 1:40 pm
u still don't get my point...1st, yes, it's made by Toyota, but it's NOT JUST A RE-BADGED Toyota... if u said that, u don't even know things about cars & auto industries. 2nd, shared platform/ chassic/ engine are common in auto industries these days. just like i'll NEVER say Audi A4 2.0T is a re-badged VW, Acura MDX is a re-badged Honda Pilot...from exterior to interior, materials to parts, Lexus managed to be more luxury & higher class, definitely not just re-badged Toyota. & 3rd, let me correct, it's not even a re-badged Matrix, since Matrix has not hybrid powertrain. so, get over the facts please, otherwise, it's only show how little u've know about cars.
March 1, 2010 12:35 am
It doesn't matter if the matrix doesn't have a hybrid powertrain. Still the same except more upscale. Just like if you got a Nissan Silvia (S15) and put a SR20 in one and a RB26DETT in another, still look the same AESTHETICALLY. Besides this thing looks like a stretched Toyota iQ, except neither this or the iQ have any appeal.
March 1, 2010 4:02 am
Is just like the Acura Civic that they sell in Canada. Not a luxury car. Who are they fooling? You can't just rebadge a tin box and call it a day. Whats next? Lexus YS, a rebadge Yaris?
February 28, 2010 1:58 pm
I can't help but see this car as a luxurious Prius, and it's a Lexus, so you'll get the usual terrible plastic smell, so-so ride quality and feeling that why everything looks so familiar with Toyota, because it's one
I'm sorry, why not a Prius? or even better, a diesel VW Golf
February 28, 2010 4:01 pm
The steering wheel looks good. As for the rest, well I'd call it an epic fail. The dash design seems to copy BMW while missing the point by adding more buttons. As for Mazda3 comparisons, the center shot shows an IP that is completely off center, and looks lame. Mazda provides a balances interior setup, this is all misaligned. The outside, I agree looks like a dressed up Matrix, which it probably is mechanically. The Matrix is ugly, so Lexus didn't have to work to hard to make this POS. I've owned two Lexus sedans, so don't bother telling me I don't know what I'm talking about or I'm just hatin'. The fact is the so-called L-finesse design theme, lacks... finesse. If it had any finesse this would at least look as cohesive as the A1, (which I find boring) or as dynamic as the A3. This car will likely sell to people who know nothing about cars, and don't mind showing off their green image, even though production of batteries, mining, shipping, and producing the raw materials for this and other hybrid cars, make it anything but green. Ignorance is bliss I guess; I'll take a new Ford Focus over this POS any day. Oh, and can we just leave the mice on our desk. Sheesh!
February 28, 2010 5:04 pm
Toyota has been adjusting designs to have the dash reflect more towards the driver, making everything easier to reach and use, at the same time opening up the perception that the front assenger has more roominess.
