Both the all-new 2011 BMW 5 Series sedan (F10) and the disguised Touring model were spied parked alongside each other. The most glaring difference is obviously at the rear but our spies also noted differences in the roofs.

It is expected that the Touring will dip into the same engine pool as its sedan sibling. That means access to the 3.0-litre straight six turbo with 225 kW (306 PS / 302 hp) and the 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 making 300 kW (408 PS / 402 hp).

Since BMW believes the 5 Series Touring will sell best in Germany, it will premier at the Auto Mobil International motor show in Leipzig, Germany along with the X5 facelift, the 3 Series Convertible facelift and the new 5 sedan, all for the first time in Germany.

A 4.4 litre twin turbo V8... and only 402hp? Hummm...I really wanted a 5.0 litre v10 twin turbo with 602hp...

I think that this V8 TT will produce any reasonable power figures it is asked for. I think a V10 TT would have been nicer but I'll take one of these V8's for now thanks

Whinging about 408ps is pathetic. Drive 408ps daily and then complain.
