Platform sharing between Mazda and Toyota? Mazda's owned by Ford, Toyota stands on its own two feet. Platform sharing between this and the Prius, maybe.

Wow, this Lexus is just hideous! Audi, BMW, and VW have nothing to fear from this poser "premium" hatch.

I think its better looking than the 1 series and the a3 is just old now. it will clearly have a better around town mpg than the 118d and golf bluemotion. the combined mpg will be on par with the most economical of its competitors, and im guessing from the press release the electric motor will be pretty nippy in it too, so fair to say faster than its equivalent competition? its a lexus so refinement will be amazing. and the usual numb drive should hopefully be addressed with them stating "superior handling agility" (?). so assuming the pricing is competitive, the answer is actually, yes, the competition does have something to be worried about.

Scrathcy, I'm from London. And what r u implying that I've clearly missed?

"Boxter127," you should have left VW and Audi out of it, BMW I understand, but in terms of sales and numbers VW and Audi shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence!

This is a pathetic.

I like it, except the rear passenger window. I think they could've incorporated that better.

i hope Toyota change their minds and make this car US only. we have enough hatchbacks in Europe. i say we let this one go to our friends across the Pond. we are prepared to make this sacrifice in the name of friendship and other stuff like that.

Your Euro hatchbacks are some of the greatest cars man. You know i love my Viper, SL55 AMG any number of other large size cars, but don't say Europe has too many hatchbacks, euro hot hatches are great across the board. It took us forever to get the A3...and we STILL don't have a 3 door version :(

Umm... well it is better than a 1-series by far. Not bad Lexus, not bad.

Learn to look at the shape guys. It could just grow on you if you let it. I'm still waiting......
February 23, 2010 7:45 pm
It looks like an ex corolla hatchback (before the Auris) with some make-up. Is not bad, but being a Lexus will have a huge price .. and with this competition around, who will be willing to pay for it ?
February 23, 2010 8:22 pm
Hollywood wannabies will buy this because it's the newer, trendier Prius.
February 23, 2010 8:43 pm
Yep, I don't think the rear passengers will have a good time back there.
February 24, 2010 3:27 am
With all respect, what's up with this trend of boring #%^& that japanese carmakers are coming up, first the Accord Crosstour and now this???
Shame!!!!
February 23, 2010 10:19 pm
Great interior but the front of the car is not the best they could design...
ANY PRICE YET ???????????
February 23, 2010 10:48 pm
The side rear profile of the car looks like a Panamera. I would like to think it is just a plastered dough Toyota Auris which is essentially just a humble Corolla.
