2011 Porsche Cayenne Captured on German Car Configurator
Deliberate or not, Porsche has posted on their European car configurator an image of what appears to be the all-new second generation 2011 Porsche Cayenne. Apparently, the image has since been removed and restored with the current Cayenne. Nonetheless, some keen eyed visitors took screenshots and now the news is buzzing around the World Wide Net.
Coincidentally (or not), another recent teaser with the 2011 Cayenne also originated from Porsche's German site in which the Cayenne was in silhouette behind the 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car.
Either way, we have a screen shot thanks to WCF member "living" for tipping us. We'll let you decide if it's genuine or an elaborate hoax.

As expected, it has the profile of a Touareg with Panamera headlights.

Yes it is. It is based on the new Touraeg, which is smaller than the Mk1.

I can agree it has almost the same boring design but I still like it somewhat, won't mind owning one.

Wow, that actually is going to be the first good looking cayenne! That looks really neat and nice!

I am with the consensus here: better, but not desirable. I'm of the G-wagon/range rover set though.
I think it would be cool if the roxter, whenever it comes out goes full niche. Think squatty looking like this with a profile like the infiniti fx or ex (ie: completely defeating the purpose of having an suv/cuv).

Do some of you seriously think this is very different from the current generation Cayenne? The current Turbo is much the same IMO.

Great design, looks like a proper Porsche. The actual car is longer yet it looks smaller and sportier. This got to be real. The rims are the new 911 turbo rims.

VW Toureg = Porsche Cayene you can say whatever you want this is the truth. They even not try to hide the same lines. Also when you buy Bentley Continental you just bought VW Pheaton!

Yes, it's called platform sharing. VW Group do it to save money. This isn't a bad thing, as their platforms are very good and are almost solely responsible for giving lesser companies like Seat and ?koda credibility again.

@ SkadV8 , Seat=Skoda , Skoda=VW, VW=Audi, Audi=Bentley , ergo Seat=Bentley ! who knew ? you can get a Bentley really cheap !

What an improvement! If it were as small as a Tiguan with performance close to a Boxster S (by perf. I include handling), maybe it'd become intersting finally.

That is exactly the problem
They imposed Mk1 uggly's design so deep in people's mind that this new one could look nice to us. Especially next to this absolutely infamous Panamera ... But sorry it is just as bad as well... less ugly but ugly.. How can you put a 911 face on such a monster... this just does not work ... you need 24" wheels to give the feeling it is not so ridiculous
but no worries... they will sell a lot of it.

I think that could be rendered. The light just doesn't hit it the same way ad the others, and it's wearing 911 Turbo/ Panamera V6 wheels - I can't help but think they would design a fresh set of wheels like they did the others, rather than depicting the car in optional wheels with optional Basalt Black paint on them.
Anyway, it's better than the first one, but why must it have huge gaping holes in it? Those air intakes have always been the worst aesthetic aspect of the front mask. The sizes and shapes are always wrong.

are you sure it's rendered ? you mean they didn't go all the way back to the Salt Flats and arranged all the cars in exactly the same position just to take that picture ?

Wait a sec, are you saying that the photo is not real? NOOOO this means i will have to change my wallpaper, cant have fake photos up.
