Audi RS 6 Sport and RS 6 Exclusive Limited Editions Announced
Audi RS6 Sedan

Added equipment, inflated prices

Audi has unveiled the limited edition RS 6 Sport and the RS 6 Exclusive.

The Sport edition has extended leather upholstery (instrument-panel and center console) and RS 6 floor mats. If you want additional equipment, you can order the exclusive package. It features "seat upholstery, controls, door trim inserts, (a) front center armrest, and door armrests" in unique leather. Buyers can also specify a custom paint job from the extensive quattro GmbH color palette.

Both packages come with carbon fiber engine dressing, a special sports suspension, an individually numbered badge, and 20-inch wheels.

Like the standard RS 6, power comes from a twin-turbo V10 with 426 kW (580 PS / 571 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

The sport package will be priced from €3,250 and the exclusive package retails for €8,310. Production will be limited to 500 units.

Audi RS 6 - two new equipment packages

Limited to 500 units: RS 6 plus Sport and RS 6 plus Audi exclusive

Audi is offering two new limited-edition equipment packages for the RS 6 - restricted to just 500 units. With a top speed of 303 km/h (188.28 mph), a Carbon design package for the engine compartment, 20-inch wheels bearing a 5 segment-spoke design, and the sports suspension plus, each of these RS 6 models will be truly unique. In fact, each of them will be a one-of-a-kind thanks to a numbered badge in the interior. Customers can opt for one of two packages: RS 6 plus Sport or RS 6 plus Audi exclusive.

The Sport version features an instrument-panel hood and center console covered in leather; an RS 6 logo adorns the front floor mats. Concerning the Audi exclusive package, customers can also specify a custom paint job by choosing from the color range of quattro GmbH. In addition, the seat upholstery, controls, door trim inserts, front center armrest, and the armrests in the door trims are covered in leather of an attractive color from the Audi exclusive program. Seat add-on parts are adapted to match the color of leather in question.

Thanks to FSI direct gasoline injection, twin-turbo supercharging, and dry sump lubrication, the high-performance V10 delivers 426 kW (580 hp) and maximum torque of 650 Nm (479.42 lb-ft) between 1,500 and 6,250 rpm. This sedan mirrors the performance of a high-performance sports car: from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62.14 mph) in just 4.5 seconds and it exceeds the 200 km/h threshold (124.27 mph) after just 14.5 seconds. The sports suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) reduces pitch and roll by purely mechanical means. The driver can switch among the three operating modes of the MMI operating terminal's shock-absorber control system: comfort, dynamic, and sport.

The RS 6 offers all the comfort of the A6 line of business models and is in the hands of quattro GmbH, a fully-owned subsidiary of AUDI AG. High-quality materials such as carbon fiber, aluminum, leather, and Alcantara create a cultivated and dynamic atmosphere in the interior. And intelligent assistance systems grant drivers yet more control. Audi lane assist warns the driver should the car inadvertently veer out of its lane.

Audi side assist alerts the driver to possible critical situations during lane changes. Audi adaptive cruise control maintains proper speed and following distance. In addition to three-dimensional road maps, the MMI navigation plus offers a DVD player for navigation/audio/video DVDs as well as a radio with dual tuner and a 40 GB hard disk drive which can store up to 3,000 musical tracks in addition to navigation data.

The RS 6 plus Sport and RS 6 plus Audi exclusive equipment packages are available now. The Sport version costs 3,250 euros; the Audi exclusive package 8,310 euros. This equates to savings of about 50 percent compared to purchasing the items individually.

Any clue whether it is going to be the I5, V6 or V8 on the RS4/RS5?

The RS5 will have an updated version of the RS4's high-revving V8 with 450 ps.

The A6 will likely get a total remodel soon. However, this car is great save for the absence of a traditional manual gearbox.

Normally i would agree, manual is the way to go. But i dont know if i really mind a nice PDK on a car of this size. One thing i mind though is that it's a PDK and they still put that huge 1980s autotragic gear changer, so pointlessly huge just ruins the ambiance of the console. I wish it was smaller like in the murcielago/gallardo.

@scratchy, not necessarily, the quattro gmbh will be very busy in the future: R8s, RS5s, TT-RS, the upcoming RS3 etc. etc. people love the RS models more and more. the new a6 is around the corner, so the RS6 sadly faces production end as well (till the next generation)

This is true. Quattro used to put out one model at a time, but it's been taking RS models for Audi to enter comparissons with M-division or AMG. As Audi seeks to take the place that BMW was in 10 years ago expansion of Quattro Gmbh will be necessary. Truthfully I'm excited and afraid for what the future will hold in terms of supersedans. The power war seems to have ended so what's next?

Ok, help me out here.... So the only RS models that will remain in production for the production year of 2010/2011, will be the 6,5,3 & the TT-RS?

When I a car looks really good, his new version is always supposed as a not good looking car. For example the A8 was a really god looking car. Now, the new one is not good at all. That is why I think the new A6 will not be as good as this one. Furthermore, I bought an Audi RS6 Avant a couple of weeks ago and it will come in april. I don't want to see the new one when my car is still a new RS6...

Yes Avant because the Saloon model is too common. The Saloon model could be compared to an M5, but the RS6 Avant is the best of all the station wagons. If you are going to buy something, it is always better to buy the best one if you can. And I also like the looking of it. I am not going to say you anything bad because you don't like the RS6 Avant but you can ask people, this car is sick !!! Check the videos on youtube. You will see that people prefer this car to an Audi R8... I don't think that RS6 Saloon is as different as his price. It is lot more expensive than an M5 but there is no big difference between them. Finally, the RS6 Saloon is just a saloon (which you can see everyday by just looking around) that is fast. The Avant is the fastest Station wagon in the world.

so..... 3250-8310? for "unique seat upholstery" when the normal RS6 alraedy has leather trim (perhaps it is not exclusive enought ;) ). Nice, a cheap way to "make" a limited edition car. No thanks, give me the "ununique" and less exclusive stock car.
