As was predicted, Force India on Tuesday confirmed Paul di Resta, a 23-year-old Scot, as its third and test driver for 2010.
The announcement took place at Scotch whiskey brand and the team's Vijay Mallya-owned sponsor Whyte and Macay's Glasgow headquarters.
"He will now attend all races on the 2010 calendar and the team envisages he will participate in a number of Friday practice sessions", read an excerpt of a media statement.
Force India said di Resta will also keep racing in DTM in 2010.
"I think this programme is a perfect way to prepare fully and be ready to go if and when the chance of a race seat comes," said the driver.
