meh, usual american bull. Here those times are done in 4cyl cosworth 2.0L engines in 1968 cars with a bunch of stock parts. Need proof? http://www.dragtimes.com/Ford-Escort-Timeslip-11253.html Even a truck almost did that time over here, and got the world record, byt we don't bullshit all over the place over here. bennymamo: Thought you Brits would have figured out the English language by now. Try reading the second paragraph. I'm guessing that little cosworth 2.0 wasn't pushing a 3,750lb Chrysler/Dodge 4 door through the quarter.

i'm not a brit. I'm from malta - so get the facts straight mr :) and yes, we know how drag cars should be built... powerful and light...

WHat are you babbling about Benny. The car is big, heavy and can fit alot of luggage or people without stripping and still do at least 11 seconds. It might big and might have a big engine but these kinds of cars have their own reward, you don't feel like you're driving a go-kart and also if you get in a crash odds are the other guy willl get more damage dealt to him.

:( the point is that these are drag races!... I don't think you see it from my viewpoint, if you're Drag racing, it SHOULD be stripped and made lighter than just standard stripping! Agreed it has it's rewards, cause even getting a good time in a go kart leaves you smiling like a clown, but i don't see this article as THAT newsworthy! See what i mean?

Go Mopar, always and still love the Charger 4 doors. Considering its street legal, its good.

You realise the charger weighs almost 1900kgs stock. With just an interior stripping it lost almost 200kgs. Down from 4000lbs~ to around 3600lbs, its not bad, remember it uses an E-class chassis and despite being older its not lightweight.

Nice! Without awd and a hundred fewer ponies shy of the veyron it manages to pull over a half second faster then the veyron.

Nope(Corvette, Viper) but ya this does look like a box a bit, whats your point though ? I like the simple brute force looks of this car.

What an ugly piece of American @#$%!!!! I think Americans enjoy going backwards with regards to motoring

Using old formulas like a large motor thats already placed in a large car and posting 9s with old methods(Supercharging) is getting the job done anyway you slice it and only a fool would consider it going backwards. Also given this American engine is soo big, and understresses compared to other kinds of motors, it can run all day long with the proper cooling.

LOL.. "fastest ever for a car riding on a Chrysler-built LX/LC platform, including the recently-produced Chrysler 300Cs, Dodge Challenger, Charger, or Magnum"... hilarious.

Given how much competition there is in the states in grass roots and professional drag racing, thats a moderately big statement. Cars like this really aren't too rare in the states.

You gotta love how the engine sounds, nothing has quite the "world is being torn apart" sound that is offered by a well built up Hemi.

Old muscle car formula old muscle car results. The 426 was the back in tha day engine for mopar, I thought they could have evolved a bit and got that power from the 5.7 hemi. This thing is rediculously fast on a drag strip, but take it out of its "natural environment" and its just a heavy 7.0 liter dinosaur.

Well its not the best track car, but lets be honest here, this car has much better suspension and well sorted out chassis than the classic '71 Dodge Charger(i love). Its a Muscle car, but its a hell of a lot friendlier and complacent than its forebear, not that any dolt can drive it.

I don't know how friendly 900 bhp is in your daily commute or when your trying to parallel park. All I'm getting at is that if you invest to have such an insanely powerful vehicle, you cannot use it anymore for a daily driver. Thus making improved ride quality and suspension a nearly insignificant plus.
